House of Sand and Fog

i have watched this movie more then 3 times in my life but i have never completed it until tonite and i didn't even know the title but it had touched my heart. Its a simple story with a big ending.

Every time i watch this, it made me think of my parents the sacrifice they make and the things they hide from you just so could have what you want and be happy without knowing how it happened. This is a story of a father who came to America from Iran to give his family a better life and worked super hard day and nite to fulfil a dream that ends in complete disappointment and sadness and on the other hand a lady who has it all but just let it go away until it was too late. Two pll with the same goal from different perspective.

The movie was based from the book, since i haven't read the book i cant really tell how the movies compared to the book but if the movie made me cried the book will most likely make me wept.

caveman and i, dont wanna go to work anymore...we just wanna get on that plane and be on vacation already!12 days still seems to be far far away...sigh...anyway..last week i was knackered...didnt have the energy to anything and morale was very close to zero, early PMS..possible..spoke lilmisskechik...she is also having the same bug..PMS bug..

to make things worst..i watched "CINTA" and "Jangan Pandang Belakang" alone..so i was scared and sad simultaneously..besides Yasmin Ahmad movies, which i think are great...CINTA is pretty good. Its like the malayu version of "Love Actually" sometimes , i rase that it was cut and paste only tukar language jer...esp the flipchart thingie....its exactly, nonetheless...it was still good...although im sure we are capable of making something different and still make a good movie. What made me sad in this movie was dian & dhani story and the cikgu and cik rubi...sedih!. The same director made another movie that came out this year..(i only knew this after i googled him) called "Sepi" by Khabir Bhatia. Im a movie fan...and kalau boleh i would like to see more malay movies..but its always about love love love..and sangat jiwang...esp abang haslam's movies...i just cannot take it..arghhh...but im glad that malaysian movie makers takin it to the level and producing good movies these days...the latest movie we watched here was "Anak Halal"...though it was a bad...very bad copy..i enjoyed it..id say it has a pretty good story line..its funny to see maya karin cakap rempits..:).

becoming jane

our cable is not working at the moment..since yesterday afternoon, since Ive been working at home for the last 2 days..my companion after caveman have gone to bed its the telly. So this morning, i was dead bored. One rig had a problem and was fixing some stuff hence..no drilling and the other was running in hole..which means...i have nothing to monitor...woohoo..i walked over to our dvd rack and found two dvd...Good Luck Chuck and Becoming Jane.

to my disappointment Good Luck Chuck was not working arghhhh...it started off ok but got stuck in the middle...so i had to switch to Becoming Jane. I loved movie adaptations from Jane Austen books, sadly..i owned 2 books written by her..but never read them..but i have watched most of the movies that was adapted from her books..Sense and Sensibility, Emma, Pride and Prejudice and now Becoming Jane..its not from one of her novel..but it was a story about her..and her love, the love that she never married..i always end up crying in a Jane Austen movie, the settings..the lines...and the story ahh soo romantic..all the men that cast for her movies as just dead romantic...come on who is not heads over heels with Mr Darcy...sigh..makes me wonder are all men of her time are like this...could we still find a Mr Darcy in our generation??? don't know....maybe they are..but in different forms..modernize some what. I found a post about Mr Darcy...and the Mr Darcy in our time...have a read....its very interesting and quite true.

In becoming jane..her BF was Tom Lefroy...not as strong as Mr Darcy..but very the sweetheart.

Soapy season finale

yes..im back to working days..and nites again! arghhhh....so 2 days back i was up til around 1am to finish up some work, i realise i had to call my mama.We havent talk for a week now...coz everytime i reach home..its too late to call home. 1 am was still too early to call..so i decided to watch my newly downloaded G.Anatomy eps 16 and 17 season finale.



I love this series...its makes u laugh...cry..think...its very real.The last esp which was also the season finale made me cry from the beginning to the end...:(...sob..sob..sob and i hate this this the season finale...which means i have to wait weeks to months before the next season comes on..and yes im sure there will be a next season!!..it must not end here.....

the chosen one

was flipping thru the channels on the telly and i came across a movie that was very familiar...but somehow i couldn't remember whats the title of it. I got curious and i thot alrite ill watching it for a few mins...and then...he walks in....Special Agent Johnny Utah...then it knew i was watching Point Break with yummy Keanu Reeves..ahhhhhh he is just the bomb! til now...his latest movie is coming out in April apparently and its called Street Kings..so ill be watching out for that!

The 1st time i watch Point Break i totaly fell in love with him...and trust me its very difficult not too..coz he is just...sooo yumss! and at the time....it was either u like Keanu Reeves or Brad Pitt they we were the two hotties at the time...but i guess over time..brad pitt got more popular!
i've lost track of how many times i watch Speed over and over again...at a when VHS was the thing..and borrowing movies from Etak Vids in sitiwan was our past time..i was tempted to keep the tape..but i figured if i keep it then they will ban me from borrowing anymore tapes soo...as a good samaritan i returned it....so what we did was we reborrow it again and again..we did the same with hocus focus too kekeke..

so yeah Keanu Reeves is my old time fav actor....i hope to see him more on the screen..he's be awfully quiet these days...

oh yeah...he's a rockstar too......*winks* but i think the band split up sometime ago..

'it all started with a chair'

my this week addiction is 'anyone else but you' sang by juno and bleeker...i think its sooo sweet and innocent.

i downloaded Juno ages ago...but with everything that was happening over the last month..i haven't the chance to watch it..adek was telling me about and was raving...he thinks ist super cool movie.

so...a few days back..i put bubbles to sleep and i watched Juno..and i can see why adek liked it soo much and the review where all very good. I liked it..its very my kind off movie...it made me laugh...it made me cry and it made me wonder.. i think the movie was very mature but yet sweet innocent. Juno is soo super funny and real..and bleeker is totaly the opps but yet it works..best movies i watched soo far this year.

The tictac thingie..made me laugh...hahahhahahha....sort of reminds me of something ..winks*

a couple of days after that..was the Oscar's...and Ellen Page was nominated for best actress..she had a chance..thot she was pretty good actress but the oscar goes to Marion Cottilard for La Vie En Rose...( its still downloading.....)

its all over the news...Heath Ledger is dead. I turned my screen today...and headlines...

Heath Ledger found dead in NYC at age 28

1st i thot it was a joke or new role he played..but i guess its true...after that all i see is this news. I wasn't a fan..but i wasn't a hater either. I liked him...and i think its not a bad actor esp in MonsterBall,First Knight, The Patriot..and of course the movie that made him super famous..Brokeback Mountain and he was a looker too..:D.

he also leaves behind a 2 yr old daughter..sad innit. I would have never thot he will die this way...doesn't seems suicidal. But then again...who would know...and i guess we will never know

update of the week!!

last week was busy for me..it was gone just like that!!...i didnt even know what i did..the days are passing by too fast now...should we be worried...geng geng geng.....yeah maybe a little..:D.

sunday...on saturday bubbles fell in the showers and hit her mouth on..poor baby. there was soo much blood i was freaking out..luckily the cuts were in her mouth so her sliver help to stop the bleeding still..it was horrifying and i keep imagining the fall over my head all nite...its scary i couldnt even sleep...so i took her to see her dr today...and alhamdulilah she is find..theres a cut in her mouth and her gums are abit swollen..but she will be fine..what a relief..then we when to the bank to take 8 grand from the bank for a fren..( damn i wished it was mine!! ) with hadrien..the cash guardian:D.

monday...my pengajian class..good as always..this tiem it was at hot kiki's pad!

teusday...sent bubbbles to school...her gums are all pink now..:D.when to dinner at the bossed house with samira n hubby..ended up sleeping there..after watching the Bourne Ultimatum...and Prophet Muhammad movie "The Message".I remember wathcing this along time ago..there use to show it during maal hijrah or something...super long movie but a good one...i think if i were to watch this before SPM,i probably would have gotten and A!!..hahahaha..






wednesday...dont remember what i did today? hmm...ahhh caveman came home..yippie..he was having flu..and i gave him some meds to feel better...i ended up drugging him and he was gone within minutes...hahaha..


thursday....hit the gym..then got a call from a fren..apparently i was suppose to be at her house for coffee..and oppss i forgot!...so off the transporter and ran home toa quik shower..iw as very tempted not to shower but i guess i will be the only stinky gal among the others...:D. came home...picked up bubbles and cook din din..caveman is still sick..:(.

friday....off to the gym again..then to the field to watch my caveman get smashed in the rugby match...Cairo club won...as always!!..had dinner at Spices Four Season..beautiful dinner...the best chinese we have had in cairo! definately come
again...BBQ Peking Duck...yummss..wish i brought my nikon with me!

Today...lazin around...took bubbles to a pop and sing class this morning recommended my another yummymummy azza...its a great palce for todds to come and play and sing with thier mummies..hot daddies.(kekekke).nanniess.So i registered bubbles in..so hopefully we can have fun together!..and oh yeah bought a dozen of huge roses for 10ringgit..:D...dont whats the plan today blog updating...blog reading...and relax!

The Nanny Diaries

bestie Poe recommended me this book one day and i totally loved it. Its was well written and the way it was describe really takes u into the book. I love the way they described the charactors...Mrs.X...harvard hottie...( i like !! )...and grover..he is very boyishly cute.
i had just finished watching the movie and it was a very good movie...my afternoon well spent! Scarlett Johansson plays the perfect nanny and i envy the stuff that she wears....this chic can wear anything!!!
This movie is a very good adaptation from book to movie...so if ure looking for movie to watch or dowload or rent this week..try this one if u havent watched it already

the aftermath

lastnite...after a really good trip to the ain sukhna, we got home and just rested and enjoying whats left of Friday.

We watched the Tsunami-Aftermath, .I remember, that this movies cause quite a stir when they were making it...coz some of those that was there to experience it did not agree that this film should be made. Its not your typical movie...and it leaves u with a sad feeling....

suddenly it reminded me what happen 4 years back on Boxing both me and caveman was on two separate rigs off Kota Bharu. We didn't feel it anything coz we were at the sea and when it happen we both was in bed. I remember walking up passing the TV room...i usually don't go in the tV room..but today..it was crowded everyone was at it, so i pop my head in and then i realise something bad had happen in Acheh and several other places. I went up to the rig floor and asked around about it...and everyone was really upset. Some of the guys had holiday homes in places that was hit.But we were working and it passed us by just like that...of course there was a sombre mood around...one of the guys told me that once a tsunami hit a village in NZ..it hit them when they were sleeping and the next day nothing of left...nothing.Some of the places that's been hit has now been rebuild...look at khao lak one of the place that was hit bad in Thailand...and of course Banda Acehnew building...new resorts..new people..but of course..the memories will always be there...

my prays goes to the deceased, missing and of course to their families and friends.

Born into Brothels

Since my back has been killing me the gym is out of the question...(i don't know where these back ache comes from...had it for 3 days now..:( going to have it checked out on Saturday )i have been at home...yes updating my blog, watching greys anatomy, finished up season 4 nip tuck ( the docs are moving to LA ...woohoo...i bet u it will be more screwed) and of coz lazing in front of the telly...iw as flipping channels and i came across this movie...1st of all the title was pretty interesting...born into brothels.
The title may sound R-rated, but this movie made me giggle,laugh and cry all together.

This movie its nothing of a R-rated movie, its a movies about how these kids from Calcutta India go about their daily lives in red light district.Most of them are the child from prostitution's...either their mum is working the line..or their grandma is working...almost all hey female family members has been in the line one time in their life. Its almost cynical..these kids..are aware of whats going on they know that the guys will come to their house a.k.a the liquor house and get drunk..then get a woman and give her some money to spend time with him..

Its great to see that these kids are soo positive about like yet they know what their future is going to like, they are soo mature yet soo innocent in their tiny little world and its great what Zana Briski aka Zana Auntie( the film maker and what the kids calls her) did by teaching them photography was an excellent idea..u see their live thru the lenses and the photos they take...some neither me or anyone else can capture with out d80 or d200 their photos are genuine and sincere.I must say its very noble what she did.

This movie is seen thru their eyes...every kid is special in their own way but every single oe of them are talented!..my fav kid is Avijit.

I just hope these kids make it thru life...and not follow the path of their parents.

Again, it makes us realise how lucky we are and for fortunate our kids are...

This movies is highly recommended....im looking if theres anymore stories of these kids...it will be interesting to know whats going with them now..
