Egypt Unrest

I'm glad to find out today that our frens are at the airport waiting to get on the plane to Dubai. With all that is happening in at the moment, the situation is worrying. I'm still worried with my Egyptian frens that are still at home....some scared to death and other are protesting....its a mix feeling going on there.

After 7 days of protest...waters being cutoff...no one is making bread...and Tahrir Sq is still burning with protesters. This use to be one of my fave places in Cairo....my Downtown is now a different sight....i could have never imagine there will be tanks in Tahrir Sq.

They say tomorrow will be the big march to the Presidential Palace....1 million pll is said to be marching. I hope they come in peace and he leaves in peace.

Egypt still have a special spot in my heart, bubbles was very upset to see Cairo burning. This is a pic i took a few years back, a historical coffee shop that use to be a place popular hangout back in the days. Today i saw many backdrops of this cafe on TV with protesters around.

For whats it worth...i really hope it was worthed.

When you least expected....

i love birthdays,but when it comes to mine its just an ordinary day.I guess since im an adult i expect less on birthdays,not like when we were kids. My parents use to give us super birthday parties and we all have alot of fun!...but that was along time ago.

But this year,when i least expected, i had the best birthday in along time,although i wished caveman was here to celebrate it with me, i had my fav frens to celebrate it with. All of them got together threw a suprise party for me......and yes i was super suprise....:).

So touched..i couldnt stop crying...yes it was not very pretty but i was just soo touched. I wished i could have dresses better to my party and slap some make up on my face, i had just come back from work. They had a very good idea of diverting me and the instant phone calls pressuring me to comeback...i really had no idea...When the door open..i just went speechless and u know when u dont want to cry but u cant help it and how your face gets all funny...i can feel my face doing exactly that and all i see what flashed or lights from the camera. Then i knew they got me!!!

Everyone i wanted to see was there...food was great..the cakes...yumms...Samira baked me her famous chocolate cake..( picture above ). Then i call home coz ayah and mama wanted to see and mama,ayah and adek sang to me...told me what i got for my birthday...priceless..:). I miss them more now.

se who couldn't come but deeply wanted too :)...Thank YOU sooo much...life in Cairo would not be the same without all of you and your friendship makes living here bearable and enjoyable.I heart you all.....:). Thank you.....

Then 2 days back...a parcel came from Malaysia..,i remembered KakPa sent me something, It was wrap is a plan brown paper...but the inside was full of drawing from my neices on the wrapping paper, very cute and very creative with a very touching card...yes pagi pagi dah buat i nagis...sigh..emo tak tentu pasal...but it was very touching.When i finally open the box...hehhe i got a cupcake stand...what more do i need....!!! probably time to make the cupcakes..:).

Pressie this year...1 cupcake stand,7 palestine potteries,1 gorgeous bag, 2 super cool clutch, a glamourous bracelate and a sexy perfume...like samira said...all i need is a hot date....:).

minggu lepas, caveman came home and told me that our landlord is pissed off with the company. Sebab, they did not pay him the rent. Of course la mamat to mengamuk...he was in the states for vacation then balik balik tgk bank acc zero....angin aaa aper lagi..and to make matters worst, the company change some policies and they wanted him to show them the deed of the property...he's like..y now...the family have been living them for almost 1 year and ure asking for the deed!!...die cakap boleh jalan laa....ure not getting it unless u pay me..or else they have to move..and u must know that we have a very nice civilized landlord unlike some..:D

So when i heard that...i was panic la aper lagi, but caveman said that it was not our problem, its the company problem and they have to deal with it.One week has passed and today he came home and told me that its done..the company wrote and exemption and payed our landlord...smilesss...:D.

So we get to stay in our flat 52..:D and we gave the landlord a call and to asked him if everthing is sorted out now..and he's happy again..alhamdulilah..if not nak kene pack and unpack again..takkan....!!!

next month will 1 yr that we have been living in this house...time flies doesn't it...

good friday

i haven't had a weekend break for a long time, and as far as today goes...looks like i might have and easy working weekend at home...all rigs are down...all i have to do is get some updates every few hours or soo and check the mails..but mostly..i plan to spend the say entertaining bubbles...hehehe...yesterday we had so much fun...although i aws 1/2 a sleep and 1/2 awake..we enjoyed our dim sum lunch with the company of auntie suhana...bubbles ate almost everything that was on the plate..and behave exceptionally well..BRAVO bubbles!

After the hearty lunch...we were the last customer to leave..hehehe..we head to citystar, the plan was to take her to the Rainforest cafe..i heard that it was a good place for kids..but some did say it could be abit scary...so we got the cafe, suprisingly it was crowded, i was carrying bubbles, all of the sudden she help me tight and said mummy 'akut'...'akut'..at 1st i didnt know what was she scared of..then i saw....this huge phyton on the tree...well it was fake phyton..but it was huge and it was movin...then to teh left there was a big crocky with his gob shut and open..gnap...gnap..hehehe..no wonder she was scared...so we ended up leaving to starbucks instead.

the 1st HnM opened in Cairo on thursday,which is great...coz i have always been a fan of HnM since my uni years...besides Oxfam,salvation army and other 2nd hand shops...most of my clothes was from HnM...coz they were cheap and stylo, so on the day they open, shilme went and she said it was like a tin of sardins..full and the women was going crazy so yesterday...it was abit clear but stilll it was impossible to buy anything or to even pick out anything...i however managed to grab a skirt...but with just one item...it took me 1hr to get to the fitting room..wait for a room..and then go to the cashier then wait to pay and get out of the store safely....i kid u not its like a jungle in there. So....will i go there again...i think ill leave it for a few month till all the egyptians are over with their HnM fever.

when home...and watch a movie with caveman til 2am. U'll be suprise....we haven't watch a movie together in along time...thanks to my crazy work hours..arghhhh i hate myself!!!..


so...ill say i had a good day, well spent!

Ayat ayat cinta

kak pa sent this book to me..all the way from KL so that i can read the book. How far have i gotten so far...yesterday morning i read one chapter before going to bed...im in chapter 6 now...and i have a long way to go.

We have the movie but she told me to finish the book 1st then watch the movies..so since she insisted....i will continue to read the book then watch the movie.

Its a thick book...419 pages..I was thinking..if i read one chapter a day before going to bed...i will be able to finish it within a month insyallah..

I have heard of ravs about this book esp from the indonesian yummies here...it felt close to the heart coz it was written based on an al-azhar student in cairo. Im in chapter 6 now..and i can imagine everything in my head pretty clear...what is written in the book about cairo..is all true!...hot summer winds...the metro stations..pll scream and looking for fights..etc its all cairo babe!

Reading this book reminds me of Pak Aep..my ustaz mengaji, a student at al azhar too...a kind man that is very humble and will answer every question u ask him without hesitation...eventhough it might sound silly. Never have i meet an ustaz like him and im glad that met. Its been awhile since ive been to my classes..yet he still keeps me updated.May Allah bless Pak Aep and his thesis...:)

Driving nitemare

i have been driving in cairo since we got our korean bat mobile...but my area is very limited...maadi...carrefour and the office...i dont even drive downtown...its too stressful and scary! since ive started work...been driving more since im doing the graveyard shift..and so far ive even driven to nasr city and zamalek!! woohoo..10 points for yummymummy..kekeke....

when i drive..i try not to use the honk too much..1st its irritating...2nd...i hated them....3rd...i hate getting honked at sooo vise versa....but here in cairo...honking is fav pasttime..everyone honks at everyone so its not a crime to honk its justthat it drives me crazy!

On the way to work today...i almost lost it, there was huge lorry with huge load on it with no safety strap in front of me takin a turn..so i slowed down and waited til the lorry was done to make my turn...aand i have like maybe 5 cars behind me banging on the hons and flashing thier lights like a mad man to ask me to get a move on!!!! arghhhhhhhhh....i really just wanted to get out and scream to each on of the **** up driver to just shut it!!!!....these are just one of common senarios u will see driving here...and this is not even bad!

i find driving in cairo....very tiring coz u constantly have to watch out for you car...and the rest coz u never know what coming in front or behind u...and most of time driving accident here is almost always fatal ,its very scary. Like i was driving back this morning...i saw a big bus that was burn and almost in ashes...it wasnt then when i was driving to work the nite before...so it must be new and i dont even wanna know happen to the passengers...sigh...also there is not such things ure on the rite lane....the street is one big lane and u can go anywhere...and it ok..and im taking about the highways..yeah not some kampung street...so u can imagine jalan kampung macam maner....:&

so....why do i still choose to drive??? 1st...i dont have a driver...2nd...i have to be dependent on other 3rd...caveman is not around....and i like to drive..

everyday i get in my car...i say my prayer, hoping that i get to my destination in safely...amin ya rabbaalamin..

WAGAMAMA

today was a busy bee day for me....had tennis in the morning, then i had to comeback pre prep my dessert for tonite BBQ at Maria's, shower and off to City Star to buy bubbles pressies and stuff for her party at school...then got home at 6pm and had to assemble my potato salad and go for the BBQ...im knackered!

I had to pass the dessert and get a ready made dessert from Costa coz there just not enuff time....i barely managed to put the potato salad together..my legs are hurting from tennis and my body is aching!

what a day huh....but it was fun..i get to hang out with my frens today...shopping with the gals..is always good!


WAGAMAMA has finally opened here in Cairo at CityStar 4th Floor Phase 2...and it was delis!...the service was tip top and the food was very good. We tried the Chili Chicken Ramen, Teriyaki Steak Soba and the Chicken chili men..they were all very good. The Chili chicken Ramen was close to our laska penang..minus the fishy bits!


i had always liked WAGAMAMA..the noodles in big bowls....ahhh im just a big fan. Im glad they opened here at least now theres more choice of food to choose from besides the junkies and Chilies..

will take caveman next!!!

Costume Made Hand Bags

today we had another food demo...this time is was Manhattan Cheesecake...Maria's signature cake! we had to leave the cake to rest for a day...ill let u know how it taste like tomorrow...but im sure it will be super! so after the baking was done...we went to SAMARA the bag shop.We went to the shop last Sunday, but unfortunately it was close...and mind u we weren't the only ladies that was waiting for the shop to open...haha so now we know where the expats wives gets their bags from...kekeke.
my biggest vice are handbags, when my fren Maria told me that theres a shop here in Maadi that does very good leather bags and can make them in any design in any color...i almost flipped! as i walked in the shop....i was stunned..the bags are really nice and are made well. All of us was going crazy looking at the bags...we wanted to take all of them with us.

30 mins later, when we were more settled and calmed down from the bag rush...i started going thru the magazine that she had at the store...it was hard to choose when u see too many bags..i didnt have anything specific in mind but i thot a little clutch bag would be nice....after going thru maybe 1/2 dozen magazine...something caught my eye...a brown snakeskin clutch bag...it was niceeeee! now...everyone who knows me well, knows that im terrified for snake or anything that has to do with them..its like a big phobia..it was not until recently that i was able to watch snakes on telly...but snakes on books or in zoo still freaks me out. So i thot, ill brave myself with this snakeskin clutch..she said that she has the leather for it..its not real snakeskin ..but calf leather with snakeskin embossed...so i said ok can i have a look at it and the next thing i knew...her assistant came out with a bunch of REAL snakeskin leather...and i almost jump from my chair...even talking about it gives me the chill!!...i did managed to get a glimps of the skins...i must say the colors were really nice...really nice...but i just cant bare myself to look closely..too bad for me.

So yes...i have ordered myself a clutch....it will take about a month to do it so that's something to look forward to!. My next purchase will be a big bag...in dark green, i saw the leather..just have to find a design for it..the owner said that she's doing a Fendi Spy bag at the moment...so if that turns out great, i might have her make that for me..in dark green and weaved handle!..lovely..

Sushi demo next door...

My neighbour, Maria got me a sushi started kit the last time she was in London nice innit?..i told her that i was such a sushi junkie but could never make a perfect roll..i remember the 1st time i tried was at uni..and it was anitemare!!...rice sticking everywhere....we ended up with huge roll that was falling apart...but it was fun.

so today she did a sushi demo for me and two other fren...and it was a sucess!!! my sushi was GOOD!! we all got 3 rolls each, mine was the salmon with cucumber maki, crabstick with cucumber and a avocado maki...i wish we could get soft shell carbs here...it will be divine!!!

So that was our lunch, maki rolls, choc cake, carrot cake and kerepek pisang...soo un healthy rite...i ate too much carrot cake that i had to slave myself at the gym after that...now my bum feels like stones...coz i have been skiving gym lately..hehehhe..i blame it on my guests...kekekeke..and the my abbs trainer told me to come to his abbs class today at 7 am..uhuhuhuhu..im soo gonna get it today, torture torture!!! thats what u get for skiving gym!

anyway.....we are going to a japanese food store next week...so that should be interesting!!!...ramen...udon...soba...i hope they have it all...my softshell crabs...ahhhhh i wish..

new lens...yippie

I got my 2nd lens today..its a Nikon 70-300mm from Copot, he wants to get the 70-300mm VR so he thot he'd recycle his old lense to me...:D..thanks copot!..i dying to give it a try!...ive been reading about it...that why im still up at 1.52am!

Its not the best of it kind esp now that the VR version is out...but it works well if u dont max it to 300mm..so it seems. I will see it for myself soon...Project project!!!!

oh yeah...arom and the gang has left today....they should in dubai now waiting for their connecting flight to KL.Its sad whne u have your guest leave..the house is suddenly soo sepi esp from bubbles screaming and blabbing. Its nice having guest around but its sad when they ahve to leave...uhuhuhhu...

im looking forward to have kak shahdee and abg anis next month...:D.

Usama Said Blow Glass Shop

i was at Khan Khalili last thursday with some frens for some window shopping and gift hunting, i need to get my father in law ( FIL) and sis in law ( SIL ) something for their upcoming bday. It was a brilliant day....its sunny some cool breeze not shabby..although we did get stuck in traffic for a while poor shilme..had to wait for us for almost 30 mins or maybe more ??? ...:D sorry babe!

We came across this shop as we were trying to find some food.."All good things are in heaven, we are upstair " there's a placard in the shop with this written on it...how intriguing! ...the shop is fully decorated with beautiful ornament made by blow glass in diff colors..really nice on the 1st floor,after we saw the sign...of course we had to see what was upstairs...well i was smiling from cheek to cheek...it was super nice...and full of everything and anything...from ornaments...lamps..cups..glasses..etc..makes u wanna buy everything and they have them in every single color! u can also costume make them to your liking..GERAM!.
this is something i will buy before we leave Egypt...a nice colored chandelier maybe...:D i hope i remember the way to this shop!

We had lunch at one of the cafes and i did something silly..a cat jumped on it and i scream...yes i did...call me a woos but i was abit terkejut! kekeke...everyone looked at our table, it was waiting to happen anyway, the cat has been eying on my felafel...a vegan cat!

anyway..i had fun..i got what i was looking for...a Quran for the FIL and a nice stone bracelet for the SIL... :) and a little something for the house ..mission accomplish!

Farewell Gusti....

I've only known her for a few months..but we have become quiet good fren...Gusti and i 1st met at my house during my pengajian class. She has a very warm personality and very frenly at 1st i thot she was single...kekeke...then i found out that she is mother of 2 and expecting her 3rd and she is still fit..:D.

since then we meet occasionally over at pengajian classes and phone calls...3 weeks back she told me that she was moving to Kuwait..all of a sudden and she will be leaving in 10 days.im like..what...did u just decide u wanna live in kuwait or what? so the story is that her husband got a job to manage 2 hotels in kuwait city...and the job needed him ASAP...Gusti & Ahmed / me /Ladees of maadi and little mariam

So last tuesday, the ladees wanted to try the metro after raved about how excellent it was...we decided to go downtown and walk thru Midan Tharir and have lunch with Gusti n hubby before she leave Thursday. All of us was super excited ..we were like little kids on teh loose...not to mention..me eing the official photographer for the 4 ladees..i managed to get some shots of downtown cairo....the building as really nice..i just wish they were looked after..

One of the building that caught my attention was the J.Groppi pastry shop. Once a upon a time..it use to be one of the best chocolatier in africa and i read in abook that even the Queen Elizabeth herself would has pll to tapau ( pack some ) chocs when ever they are in egypt..so i guess if it fit for Queen it must be super and all the writers and pasha will come and sit here for their tea & and scones. Now J.Groppi is still serving customers..but the glam has gone but the history & memories still remains..even my looking at the building u get a feel that yes..once this place a hotspot! :D. I have yet to try this place.....but now that i know how to get thereby metro...it will be easy peasy....

TO Gusti and family...Bon VOyage...and i hope u will find home in Kuwait...we miss you Muahssss..

Sakanat El Maadi Station

I got poison bad yesterday...what kind of poison..?? u might think im crazy but i got the shoe poisoning...i hold Shilme responsible for all the damaged!!!! :d...Thanks dear..

so the mission was to go to a Clarks shoes sale all the way to Mohandesein which is on the other side of Maadi, apparenty they were selling the shoes at 50% off so u can get a pair for 175 l.e the most. So i thot ok why not...lets have a look, so i called up my Mohandesein gure to ask her how to get on the metro..so happen she was working from home...and the poison got even stronger!

she said to get on the metro from Maadi Sakanat..pay 1 l.e and stop at Sadat station and change train to stop at El Bohoos....sound simple enuff ..i said ok..ill see u at 2.pm...and yeah she also said to take the middle cabin which was the all women cabin...Women's Cabin

what was my 1st impression...I was impressed!...it was way better then our LRT...the trains comes every 2 mins and the condition was not bad at all...i think the METRO in Milan was more smellyyy....:D...i stepped in the women cabin..and all eyes was on me..some ladies was very nice and tried to make some conversation...but all i could give was sign language felt abit dumb though. Got down in Sadat station..it was like getting down in Picallidy circus..it was busy and huge!...i even got shout at my the police for taking photos...of their civilizations...hehehe..then i ran to get on my train to El bohoos...3 stop later i was in Mohandesein..it only took me 40 mins from Maadi. Not bad aye....definitely try again.

So we walked to the so called Platinum Mall...which looked more like Sungei Wang maybe worst to find the Clarks store..we walked in...and we started to try everything single shoe..hehehhe...yes...they were cheap. 45 mins later...we walked out with 4 pair of shoes..and ho w much did we pay??? well i only paid 580.le which was rm 341 for 3 pair of shoes....crazy??? yesi thot soo...but they wer good shoes and they we a good bargain!...feeling guilty now...suhana made me wear my orange wedges rite away coz it matched my bag...

I told my other frens today about little ride on the METRO...everyone was quite suprise that rode it but know they abit enlighten but the fact that the METRO is not that smelly and confusing..

i would definitely take the METRO again in the future...

Cairo Opera House

Went to Cairo Opera House lastnite for from ballet....and for 75 L.E and good seat i think it was good 2 hrs spent!

What made us go....:D well at 1st i thot they were showing the full Swan Lake recital so when i called up to asked about the tix, apparently its a combination of 4 ballet recital Bolero,Zorba,Carmen and Swan Lake. I have never heard if Zorba before so i was quite curious...all i know its some greek dance.

As always...the cairo traffic was unpredictable we arrived 15 mins late on meshary bat mobile, the opera house is a beautiful place to be at nite, the lightings and everything else makes it looks very grande. So we got there...ran to the hall...yes 3 ladies was running heels...and none tripped kekeke not bad kan??

The 1st show was the Bolero...we missed the earlier part and we managed to see the best part of it!



the swan lake was abit dissapointing for me...1st the the dancers was in what seems to be like a belly dancer costume, was expecting them to be wearing those frilly skirts u know...but they were good dancers..i was just expecting a bit too much :D but th carmen was really good and intense just as it should be! bravo




the last recital and also the longest was the 'Zorba the Greek'. I think we all enjoyed it the most. It was a very energetic ballet with a good story, abit of sadness and happiness. I must say the soloist was great...thumbs up!!!
After hearing zorba...i realise i have heard it before just never knew whats its called :D.




watching ballet makes me wish i did ballet...kekekeke...abit too late now i guess...well maybe i should try on bubbles..hehehe..mangsa ibu bapa..:P

Coffee Bean & Tea leaf in Digla Rd 232

was browsing thru one of the free magazine that i got from the gym today and there was an ad for Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf here in Digla...i was pretty estatic! the nearest coffee shop to our place is Cilantro but the coffee..sorry to say aint that good...so i was curious to find out if the coffee bean is any better. So next days after picking up bubbles from school...i decided to go there for a my fav iced tea..

It was pretty nice setting....very cooling with those big fans and lots of green tree around it make it very comfy and cosy.

I walked in and ordered my fav flavoured iced tea....which unfortunately they do not have....what a bummer...i really needed one!!( It was a hot day) so i ended up getting juices for me and bubbles and a big almond cookie as bride for her...in case she starts to get restless...:D

it was nice place to chill....i was over there again over the weekend with some frens...and this times tried the coffee..and there werent bad at all..the cakes were abit stale...probably been there for a few days..besides that.....i have no complains.:D

last nite..

where do i begin...let see.. it was our 3rd anny last monday..and caveman choose to play rugby over me...sad?? yes very sad....was i upset....yes i was....but then again im not a 6 yrs old kids to sulk and moan about it..but i was upset.

So he tried to make it up with me lastnite by takin me out for dinner...in some secret place in Zamalek..so i thot ok..why not..at least he's trying. So i got ready and actually put on makeup for the nite and got the baby sitter for bubbles...and we're off to Zamalek.

1hr later...we were still in the car...still looking for this secret place, then when we finally figure out where was the place...we missed and had to make a big round to the other side of the nile...can u imagine..i can see that caveman was getting agitated...hahahaha...so we went back..and this time we cant find the freaking parking place...so another round we goo... it was 9p.m we have been driving in circle for 2 hrs now...so i said forget it..lets just go to Aqua at Four Seasons. So we got there...parked the car, only to find out it was fully booked!!! due to some functions....gerammmm!!!..not only that all the other restaurant was fully booked too...now we were both frustrated...the whole thing has gone wrong....we head home and stop by TGI Fridays for some stale steak and wings...what a nite aye...i told caveman, this is what u get for ditching me for rugby!!!....cest la vie'

lets see if next year will be better...

After 9 month of watching her grow inside her mama's belly.....she finally arrived on the afternoon of 21st Febuary 2008.....welcome to the world baby and big congratulations to her proud papa and glowing mama..kiss kiss

as you can see she is a beauty....when she 1st came out, i must say that she looks like a Japanese baby...hehehe soo round and flat but after one week...the features is more define and she looks more like herself...although she is a cop of her mama...:). Day by day she is getting stronger and stronger and also building up her charactor.....just like safeia...

the 2nd day she was brought home.. i had the privilage to give her 1st bath! i was a bit scared but i guess had to be the stronger person....hahaha...byk byk bismillah and everything went well...i couldnt even do it with safeia when she was little..i was terrified! looks like it comes naturally after u have become a mummy..:D

to the new parents...this is just the beginning of a wonderful and exciting experience...just like a rollercoster, u'll have some ups and downs....not soo good days and super days...but its all worthed..watching our little ones grow up each day is blissful and they will always put a smile on you face...:)

Jungle Party @ Pop In

i have to blog this...soo bubbles was soo cute...She was Dumbo the elephant for a day...(my all time fav jungle animal!!)

Pop In, where she and i goes for our weekly sing along classes had a Jungle Party last week..the kids was recommend to wear customs if they like...so i found some animal costume at this little toy shop called Pony...and after seeing other kids with their costumes..i think most of the parents got from Pony...a good week for the shop aye!

the elephant was accidental, it was the only that was bubbles size the rest was either too small or to big for her, Marie said that she had gotten Masheal a bubble bee costume....which was soo cute on her....esp the antennas. i was afraid that bubbles might not want to wear her's but she did so willingly and didnt want to take it off till it time to change to her PJs.



it was fun day.....

But i have a very good reason for letting my blog 'bersawang'..my lovely parents came to visit us in cairo for a week...i wish they had stayed longer but the fact that my dad actually leave work to come here for a week was good enough....so for a week..i really felt like i was back in my home in KL...with adek around..it as the 1st time in a long time that we are a family again as 4! and it made me very happy :).

they had a week to spend with their cucu and also to see cairo so we took them to Alexandria for a day trip which was excellent. Alexandria is 220km from cairo, with a reasonable speed you will reach alex in 2 hrs. We got there at 9am on a friday and it was soo quite...we headed to the roman amphitheatre in the middle of the city. It was pretty amazing to see some roman ruins here, most of the pillars a gone but the some are still intact and they are still exvacating!!! next stop was the catacomb....this i like alot...its a roman underground tomb!...if u have kids like my bubbles...its not recommeded unless u have a detector!!!...its a spirally steps all the way to the tomb ad once ure in thre..u have this little little corners and hole that u have to watch as u walk thru. It was actually like a little maze. Unfortunately...theres ure not allowed to take any photos inside...so if u wanna see how it looks like click here.

Down the road from the catacomb, is the Pompey Pillar. Its basically a pillar that sticking out from a little hill. Not much to see....theres 2 shpinx guarding it. We had a really nice lunch at The Fish Market on the Cornish. It has a beautiful view of the sea and the town by the sea. Since we have been here, we hardly try any fish coz i dont know what fish to buy..most the time its seabass and seabass...with ayah around...he's picked up all the fishes for us...hahaha...so now i know what are the names for the other fishes..:P after lunch it was around 4ish..so drove to Qaitbay...to go for a stroll by the sea. It was heaps of ppl...and the wind was blowing hard and the waves are crashing in. Very cold!! We drove back to cairo when the sun started to go down...everyone was tired..esp the baby and the grans..hahahha. It was good day trip.

or the tours in cairo...i hired a tour guide and a minivan for us to go sightseeing...i think thats the best way to see cairo and it was good for me since ive been travelling in egypt with my lonely planet as a guide. Thanks fto Mbak Mira, she reccommend her travel agency to me..Mr Muhammad Masri, its was good deal i think...for a 2 days trip...i only forked out 550 l.e for a minivan and a tour guide ( of course i paid extra 150 l.e for the guide and driver at the end of the trip just becoz they were good and very patience ) and its a door to door service!

in two days...they managed to cover...the pyramids,museum,citadel,old cairo, coptic cairo and khan khalili...they almost the whole khan...:D...and addition to that..one of my office mate sharez was here in cairo with his family...and they have a little cutie pie name Qistina

It was hard adjusting to not having anyone around at the house after a month of guests...esp my family..for one month adek made my day...with his silly jokes..it was like old times..us being silly...and menyakat our mama..

anyway...it was better then not seeing them at all...:D.

my caveman finally bought a game console..the X-Box360...and im watchin him playing while im writing this entree...i think the X-box will be his new best fren for at least 1 month before he gets bored with it...hahaha well i hope we will gets bored with it!with my brother around...lagi la layan...

im not a game person the most i'll play is the the SIM or Theme Hospital....those i enjoy but all this killing games or sports game...dont interest me much.

mama and ayah will be here in a couple of days..so im very the excited about it! last nite we send Jo Jo adek's fren back to KL after a sound n light show at the Pyramids. I have been there 3 times now but it never fails to bore me. To see the pyramids at nite under the stars is amazing! For 75 l.e its a good one hour show...however the price has increase since the 1st time i went 2 years back. Just before we bought the tickets, one of the local man offers us to ride on camel inside the pyramids for the same price at the tix...how cool is ride to actually go to the pyamids at nite. I think it was a brilliant idea but of course with bubbles..and the temp being 10 deg we decided to just buy the tix and watch it from the podium..

Oh yeah...last nite Egypt won the African Cup 2008!!!!! thumbs up Egypt! everyone was celebrating everywhere..a fren called from Mohandesseen and told me that the street in front of her house is like a party..roads are blocked and everyone is out on the street jumping,singing etc. i would have loved to see it..but caveman said that if we were to go downtown...we will be stuck there and Jo Jo will miss his flight...so we drove back to maadi ( the cornish was empty!!! ) and had some dessert and shisha at TGI Fridays.
